discovering God

February Newsletter

The Bold Adventure Begins…

Welcome friends!

Thank you for joining me for this first edition of my newsletter. Each month, I will carve out ideas that spark curiosity in nature, connection to God, and wellness pursuits. Because living in our ever-changing, often stressful world, many of us have a need for internal rest in our souls and are in pursuit of that which satisfies.

“For he satisfies the longing soul and the hungry soul he fills with good things.”

— Psalm 107:9

I have written devotionals for meditative reflection for David C Cook and Judson Press. I love writing stories for 3 to 6-year-old youngsters in Clubhouse Jr (Focus on the Family). But perhaps I’m most passionate about discovering God in every aspect of nature through worship nature journaling.

So, whether you’re here for inspiration, reflection, or simply to grab a moment of calm in your chaotic world, I’m grateful you’ve chosen to spend a few minutes with my words.

7 Reasons for Nature Walks

It’s proven that nature engagement is beneficial for body, mind, and soul for all ages.

  • Reduces stress
  • Enhances physical activity
  • Promotes better sleep
  • Increases happiness
  • Alone time healing
  • Stirs creativity
  • Spiritual connection to God

Let’s get started! Maybe you have a routine for getting outside. But how often? What are the obstacles? But finding a way to get outside, you will benefit from unplugging from the inside and plugging into the outside.

Be Bold – Action Step

Clear your calendar at least once a week to get outside and be in nature. Walking in the forest is perfect. But, if walking is impossible, sitting at the edge of the forest still allows for your body’s senses to engage in nature. Consider taking along a journal for reflection.
